EDO PERIOD " YOROI "
Black lacquered 32 Ken "KABUTO", with 4 stage ornate bronze with
foliate design "TEHEN-KANAMONO", 4 Lame "SHIKORO", with
very handsome sky blue and plum colored "KEBIKI ODASHI" lacing.
Well balanced and neat "FUKIGAESHI" , with a double mounting for the "MAEDATE". Interior
liner is stitched brown hemp, interior visor is cinnabar red lacquer, sweat
band is plum colored leather. Mint condition.
"MAEDATE", is a ornate lacquered wood and gilded bronze
chrysanthemum in fool bloom, under a fill moon. Perfect condition.
"MENPO", is black lacquered, with a rare pin and chain fitting to the
nose piece, with four lame black lacquered throat protector, with orange and
plum colored "KEBIKI ODASHI". Interior of the Menpo is cinnabar red
lacquer. *99.9% perfect condition.
"SODE" are 6 lame black lacquered with dark blue and contrasting
light blue "KEBIKI ODASHI". Interior is a beautiful brown hemp with dark blue
silk trim. Each "SODE" is fitted with bronze fittings and has
original orange colored silk regalia *99% perfect.
"ODA GOTE", are brown lacquered with characteristic gourd shaped
plates {these represent money pouches }, applied over the forearm and upper
arm, plates are closely pleated with rows of tiny rivets at each end. Chain
mail is very clean and no rust. Interior is a beautiful dark blue hemp with
underside of sleeve is bottle green with black flower designs. Thick dark blue
silk lacing. MINT
"DOU" is black lacquered with "KEBIKI ODASHI" and is 97% perfect,
with light wear only to the inner silk liner at the back of the neck "SODE"
are also fitted to the do so there are TWO ORIGINAL SETS.
"IKEDA HAIDATE", {armored thigh protectors}, are dark blue hemp with
dark blue silk trim and brown lacquered armor plates, with matching textile to
the "GOTE". 99% mint condition.
"SUNEATE", are black lacquered armor plates with brown leather and
matching textile to "GOTE". *Mint.
There is a black lacquered "YORIBITSU", {Storage box}, with
gilt mon. The Yoroi looks to have been fully and professionally restored at
the end of the Edo period.
Overall condition is exceptionally good.
