Archived Kabuto of the Samurai

Namban Kawari Kabuto

Edo Period 17th Century Namban Kawari-Kabuto of eight Iron plates in russet iron finish. Four lame black lacquered shikoro,  with silk bindings.
Fukigaeshi have two bronze mon.
Interior liner is kasuri blue colored hemp with cinnabar red lacquered visor .
Chin strap is silk & sweat band is printed leather.
 

Suji Kabuto 62 ken

A Rare & Magnificent Japanese Antique , Muromachi Period , * 62Ken " Suji-Kabuto ". Large Bronze style Three stage " Tehen-Kanamono ", with " Shakudo " {Gold & copper alloy coating }. " Kasajirushi-tsuke -no-kan " behind " Tehen -kanamono " also has " Shakudo " covering.

Maedate mount is Ornamental Bronze with Three Large " Hasso Byo " { soft metal rivets with ornamental Heads }, fitted below to the Bronze trimmed Visor .
Interior of the Visor is Black Lacquered .
Interior Liner is Deer Skin and the Original Liner  though the Tehen-Kanamono Bright Printed leather of the Upper side of the Liner can clearly be seen.
This Magnificently Forged Kabuto is Attributed to the " Miochin " Armorer's of the Mid 16th Century Muromachi Period.
 

Menpo

Edo period 18thC "Menpo" of  Deep Black Lacquered Iron with detachable nose piece & "Yadome" {standing flange} on either cheek. Menpo has Red Lips and Gilded Teeth.
Mustache has been cropped, interior is Red Lacquered .
"Asenagashin no kan" {sweat-hole} is under the chin.
Four Lame "Yodarekake" {throat -defense} of "Kiristuke Kozane" {imitation lamellae} with dark green "Kibiki odashi " {close-spaced lacing}.
This Menpo is of heavy weight and Excellent Quality.
